With Easter gatherings fast approaching, we’ve been thinking of ways to add a little handmade touch to our Easter decor. This version of Easter eggs is so simple to make – and will have your children even more excited for Easter!
These paper Easter egg collages are a fun and straightforward craft, so grab your Wikki Stix and your kids and get them involved in the process.
Materials Needed:
- Wikki Stix
- Cardstock
- Scissors
- Additional craft materials (beads, pipe cleaners, etc. – optional)
- Glue for adhering the extra craft materials
Step 1:
Gather your materials. Find an egg template online or draw one of your own on to paper – this will later be used to trace the outline for each of your eggs.
Step 2:
Trace the egg shape onto cardstock to form your Easter eggs. Cardstock is good to use for this project because it is more sturdy than regular construction paper, but you can use whatever you have on hand. We like to use bright colored paper with our Easter eggs.
Step 3:
Decorate your Easter eggs! Wikki Stix adheres very well to cardstock – and, as a bonus, no glue is necessary!
We pressed our Easter eggs with Wikki Stix and made different designs on each. We then added different craft materials that we had on hand. Pipe cleaners, pom poms and gems work well with this kind of craft. We used the Wikki Stix to make different patterns and worked in some fine motor practice, too!
Always remember to allow your children to use their creativity and imagination when doing this project, as there is absolutely no right or wrong way to complete this.
When your projects are complete, display them around your house! They can be hung from a tree (outside or in), displayed like garland or scattered across your dining table. Wherever you prefer to display them, they are sure to bring some nice Easter cheer to your house.
We hope this activity inspires you to get creative this spring, and that it creates lasting memories and fun for your whole family.
