Recycled K-Cup Reindeer and Santa Crafts for Kids!

The convenience of single-use K-Cups is a blessing, especially during the busy holidays.  If you’ve wondered about all the little plastic cups collecting in landfills, try recycling them into FUN holiday crafts kids can make.  The Wikki Stix K-Cup Reindeer and Santa crafts can be saved for decorations from year-to-year or gifted to family and friends.

Wikki Stix Recycled K-Cup Reindeer and Santa Crafts for Kids

Materials needed for the K-Cup Reindeer Crafts:

  • Used K-Cups (one per craft) – emptied, washed, and thoroughly dried.
  • Brown, White, Black, and Red Wikki Stix
  • Scissors

Directions:

  • Give each child a K-Cup and have them invert the cup (the opening should be on the bottom).
  • Kids should cover the K-Cup with brown Wikki Stix (hint:  begin with a circular pattern at the top and then wrap the entire cup in brown Wikki Stix – see photo).
  • To make the reindeer’s eyes:  cut one white Wikki Stix in half and then make a tight pinwheel.  Small cut pieces of black Wikki Stix can then be pressed onto the white pinwheels.  Press the eyes firmly to the brown Wikki Stix covered K-cup.
  • The reindeer’s nose is created with one red Wikki Stix wrapped into a tight pinwheel.  Press the nose the the bottom of the K-Cup.
  • Kids can create antlers by wrapping brown Wikki Stix around a finger or a pencil.  Press the ends of the created spirals to the back of the covered K-Cup.

Kids can create all of Santa’s reindeer and use brown Wikki Stix to harness the reindeer together.  Creating with Wikki Stix helps build important fine motor skills while creating FUN Christmas memories.
