Simple No-Glue Mixed Media Sunshine Crafts for Kids!

While many families with kids are preparing for the start of a new school year, kids can enjoy the last moments of summer break creating fun, yet simple, mixed media sunshine crafts. The sunshine crafts are unique to each child and require no glue when creating with Wikki Stix. Gather your Wikki Stix and a few simple supplies for a summer crafting session your kids will love.

Simple No-Glue Mixed Media Sunshine Crafts for Kids!

Materials needed:

• Wikki Stix (any color)
• Assorted mixed media supplies readily available around the house. Some suggestions might include (but are not limited to): red, yellow, and/or orange construction paper (cut into squares or small pieces), tissue paper (torn or cut pieces), cut pieces of paper or plastic straws, aluminum foil pieces, plastic flower arranging stones, red or northern dry beans, various shapes of dry pasta, craft or real feathers, pony beads, and ribbon or fabric scraps.
• Scissors
• One Free Sunshine Template (print here).

Directions:

• Print the sunshine template to heavy paper (one per craft).
• Invite kids to randomly place Wikki Stix inside the outline of the sunshine (see photo for an example).
• Kids can hunt around the house for any items available to decorate the sunshine crafts. Each of the sunshine crafts will be unique to the child decorating with any chosen items. The decorating supplies can be pressed onto the Wikki Stix with just fingertip pressure avoiding the need for glue. It’s a great mixed media sunshine craft even younger kids can create independently.
• The mixed media sunshine crafts make beautiful summertime displays. Please note: if heavier mixed media items are used (stones, heavy beads, dry beans), staple the sunshine craft to cardboard before displaying at home.

The simple no-glue mixed media sunshine crafts make beautiful summertime decorations for kids to create. The crafts can also be saved for future display by placing the craft between two pieces of parchment paper and storing inside a box or plastic bag.
